Nodame Cantabile - Episode 2

By Ace | February 2, 2007

When I watched this episode, I realized that I’m falling in love with the OP. Didn’t really care for it at first, but it grew on me after hearing it a couple of times.

Rock Violin
Rock Violin, definitely unexpected

Watching this episode I was strangely reminiscent of episode 1. A lot of parallels can be drawn in the events transpired, but then there are some key differences. I’m assuming these parallels are sort of a repetition for emphasis sort of idealism. Some more character development seems to be taking place. It almost seems as though Chiaki may be starting to lighten up a little (even if he did give Saiko her just desserts)

Felt the heat off that one
Ouch, felt the heat off that one.

One thing that strikes me as interesting right now is that, Chiaki seems to get the most praise (directly or indirectly) when he just “goes with the flow” of things instead of trying to be so precise and exact. This leads me to a guess that this will some how play into the grand scheme of things as the series goes along.

Fluid animation
Fluid animation is a must when dealing with music

All in all, this series continues to captivate me, even though it is still in the early stages. Gorgeous animation styles, fluid dialog, even the personalities seem so.. real.

By this point in the anime, I decided I would see what the drama is like. And somehow, I enjoyed the drama better. There’s just something about a real life Nodame that is very intriguing…
